Q: So, what's the point?
A: Well, we got tired of going to the more than 50 one item a day sites, so we decided to make a list for us to use. Then we decided to share it with our closest friends on the internet - all 6.6 billion or so of you.
Q: Dude! Why is it every time I click on a killer deal, it is already sold out?
A: You need to quit sleeping so much. Sleeping is over rated. We list the info, the whole info, and nothing but the info we get from the sites. If they are sold out and don't put it in their RSS feeds, then we can't pass the info on to you. Besides - we are helping you get used to disappointment and rejection - unless you are geeks like us - then you are already used to it.
Q: Are you guys affiliated with any of these sites?
A: Nope. We just spend a lot of money at many of them. We have no association with any of them - we have called - they don't return our messages. As such, we aren't responsible for any of the items you buy, any actions of any of the sites we list, or how much your wife/girlfriend/husband/voices in your head yell at you because you just bought another BOC!
Q: What's a BOC?
A: n00b...
Q: Why do some items say "[CaRP] XML error: not well-formed"?
A: Some webmasters don't know how to use a feed validator. We are at the mercy of the RSS feeds that they send us - if they are hosed when they publish them, they are hosed when we show them.
Q: Why don't you have my favorite site listed?
A: Because "Timmy's House of Earwax" doesn't have a good website. Okay, okay - their site ROCKS! But seriously, if you know of a site that we don't have listed, fire us of an email and we will get it posted.
Q: Hey! A couple of the sites you have listed aren't true "one item, one day" sites. What's the deal?
A: Okay - you caught us. There are a few sites (steepandcheap.com, wine.woot.com, etc) that update more or less often than once a day, but hey - they are close, and we still love them. No one is perfect - especially us - ask our Mothers.
Q: How did you guys decide the order of sites listed?
A: This is a harder question to answer. Basically, we used a Ouija board and a magic 8 ball. Hope that cleared it up for you.
FINE! You want a real answer. We have the sites that have been around for a long time - or we feel will be around for a long time - listed higher. Also, sites that include images in their RSS feeds (hint hint, webmasters), we just like the pretty pictures - so they are listed first.
Q: I am one of these webmasters you keep taking cheap shots at. Where are you so I can kick your butt?
A: I am at my desk. Thanks for asking.
Q: I coded the RSS feed for one of the sites you have listed, and I realize it sucks. Any suggestions?
A: Take a look at the "Steep and Cheap" feed. They did a great job of breaking out the image, description and price. If everyone did it this way, we could spend more time at the gym (and believe me - we need to spend more time at the gym.)
